The furnishings are Early American in maple, oak and pine
woods. There are many wall hangings personally created by members of our family.
The fossil stone hearth and wall was a joint family endeavor and
we are proud of our handiwork.
A Jeffry Pine tree grows through the deck.
The bark of this pine has an almond aroma.
A chair lift from the old Squaw
Valley "Immigrant Lift" is suspended between two pine trees and nestled in the glacial boulders at the side of the house.
There are two very old childrens sleds hanging
on the kitchen wall: one was brought home, lashed to our skis, on a trip from
Switzerland. The other sled came from--who would ever have thought!--an
antique shop in Beaufort, South Carolina. On the living room wall are two pairs of old wooden skis and bamboo poles. One pair was picked up at a thrift shop, years ago, and the other pair from one of our guests who made the donation to the decor. The wooden ice skates over the hutch came from a flea market in Amsterdam. ENJOY!!!
